Good morning, all.
Below is the trip report for last Saturday’s walk at Tecolote Canyon. We began with 9 stalwart souls, but lost several along the way because of the heat. At 10 AM, I declared the walk over—again, because of the heat.
Surprisingly, the most plentiful noteworthy bird for the day was the Cooper’s Hawk–both adult and young.
By the way, many thanks to Anitra Khaye, who accompanied us and added her exceptional expertise. Anitra leads the San Diego Audubon walks at the Canyon, and is a long-time member of a citizens’ committee responsible for advising the city on canyon affairs.
