On Saturday, October 19, thirty-two birders walked around Kit Carson Park
in Escondido. We had excellent weather, with a really cool Fall morning,
warming up as the walk finished. We found 55 different bird species.
Lots of Mallards, Bushtits, and Lesser Goldfinches. I think the best
bird of the day, was the Palomar Audubon Society’s own mascot bird, the
California Gnatcatcher. This bird is always a reliable species found at
this location.
