It was a warm sunny day, getting up into the mid-eighties. Twenty-two birders joined the walk. The most interesting sighting was a Black-crown Night-heron trying to swallow a large ground squirrel. The heron flew off before we were able to see him eat the squirrel. The birds were very attracted to several Mulberry trees in the park. Yellow Chats were very active and close to the group.
We saw 53 species on the walk.
