Birders,
It was a beautiful day in the Lagunas, cool in the morning warming up later. I felt the numbers of species and counts were down. Flowers and bugs were were sparse , too. There was water in the creek.
We skipped the trip to Deset View picnic area as nobody wanted to go.
For me, the highlights of the walk were hearing and/or seeing the Cassin’s Finch and observing the nesting activities of the Pygmy Nuthatch and the Western Wood Peewee.

Comments: This was a Palomar Audubon sponsored bird walk. Numbers of species and birds were down.. Almost no Violet-green swallows were seen during the walk. Pleasant temperature, not buggy.
