Hello Everyone and thanks to the 18 of us that were participants in our scheduled bird walk.
Batiquitos Lagoon can be challenging, but with 36 eyes looking at the multiple habitats we managed to accumulate a list that included 56 species of birds.
1st thing in the AM, we saw a Yellow-crowned Night-heron. Later we encountered a Downy Woodpecker and if weren’t for the Mallard sleeping at the golf course pond, there would not have been any ducks. I expect the ducks will show in a couple weeks.
We made the rare list with a distant sighting of a Pectoral Sandpiper, thanks to the people bearing the expensive scopes.
Thanks to Steve Ellis for tabulating our eBird list.
Respectfully, Gerry Baade
