Hi Friends,
Sixteen birders met up this morning, October 4, at Huntington Beach in LA County, where we checked out the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve along the coast, and later we birded inland at the Huntington Central Park. The weather was warm but with a cool breeze and staying in the shade as much as possible, we all enjoyed the morning of birding at these two birding “hotspots”. It really was a “Big Day at Huntington Beach” because between the two locations we found 92 bird species! We had great looks at the Ridgeway’s Rail, Scaly-breasted Munia, and the Pin-tailed Whydah.
