This is an unofficial birding event to Old Survey Road on August 31st. Arrive at 7:50 AM so we can gather and be ready to enter at 8 AM when it opens. See permit requirements below!

This is a trail that begins at the end of Rangeland Rd. and goes across the north end of Ramona Grasslands.  It’s only open on weekends between August and November, then closed the rest of the year for golden eagle nesting.  It’s straight in and back out, and if you make it to the end, there’s a great view of Pauma Valley.

If you plan to go, you must watch a video, answer a few questions, and then download a pass to show the ranger at the gate.  Here is the website:
