Twenty-five birders enjoyed a sunny day along the river. Instead of birding at Famosa Slough, we continued west of the bridge to look for a Tropical Kingbird that had been spotted earlier. No luck, but did find several Cassin’s Kingbirds. Jack Friery left the group and went down to Robb Field, and saw more Snowy Plovers in one bunch than he had ever seen before. That, plus he saw dozens of Brant.
