Santee Lakes Field Trip Report

On Saturday, July 13, Tom Trowbridge led twenty-three birders walking around Santee Lakes and they found 36 different bird species. Also, three birders found an additional 5-9 bird species. The weather was very nice for most of the morning, but it was quite warm when they finished.

The were lots of young Mallards, House Finches, and Bushtits. Unfortunately, there were lots of species missing from our usual count of the duck species that we found during the Winter/Spring months.

Many thanks go out to Jean Paulus for maintaining our eBird checklist
