Guajome January 24, 2015 Bird Count

It was a lovely day in the neighborhood as 21 PAC Birders set out to canvas Guajome Park. We were missing the usual early morning contribution by Sonia and Michael Beevé (where were they anyway!) but we still racked up a fair number for this location. Final count was 48 species. The group was congenial with many eyes, new and old, pointing out for all of us to observe the variety of species they found. A highlight for this area is always the roadrunner. It did not disappoint as we saw not just one but three, as they scavenged the open hillside for bugs and lizards. Our thanks to Greg Thompson, of San Diego Audubon, who gladly offered his expertise and scope.

Flyin’ High,
Doug Walkley
