Field Trip Results Agua Dulce Creek Laguna Mtns.

Hi Good Friends,On Saturday June 18, eight birders met up at Agua Dulce Creek in the Laguna Mountains. It was a beautiful sunny morning with a nice cool breeze. We found 29 bird species. Lots of Acorn Woodpeckers, California Scrub-Jays, and Violet-green Swallows. The best bird of the day was a Purple Finch which we all observed at a short distance, posing in the sunlight.See Mary Jo Hayes eBird report for some nice photos and our species count: https://ebird.org/checklist/S113232786Here is our bird species list:Turkey VultureRed-tailed HawkBand-tailed PigeonMourning DoveAnna’s HummingbirdAllen’s HummingbirdCosta’s HummingbirdAcorn WoodpeckerNuttall’s WoodpeckerNorthern FlickerPacific-slope FlycatcherAsh-throated FlycatcherSteller’s JayCalifornia Scrub-JayCommon RavenViolet-green SwallowMountain ChickadeeWhite-breasted NuthatchPygmy NuthatchHouse WrenBlue-grey GnatcatcherWestern BluebirdAmerican RobinPhainopeplaSpotted TowheeDark-eyed JuncoHouse FinchPurple FinchJim Beckman, trip leader
