Lake Murray Field Trip Report

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hi Friends,

On Saturday July 2, nineteen birders met up at Lake Murray in San Diego. The weather was warm but a cool breeze made for a very comfortable walk around the lake. We initially hiked around the northwest section, but later, a smaller group of us also checked out the lower southeast area. Combining both areas, we found a total of 49 bird species.

Lots of Mallards, American Coots, House Finches, and Great-tailed Grackles. We also found the rare Cackling Goose
