On Saturday, July 6, eighteen birders walked around Lake Murray in La
Mesa. The weather was warm and hot, but not really uncomfortable. We
checked out two locations at the Lake. We met up at the northwestern
portion of the lake, where we found 55 different bird species. There
were lots of Bushtits, Brewer’s Blackbirds, and Canada Geese here. After
birding at the Northwest location of the lake, 14 birders drove over to
the Southeastern portion of Lake Murray. Here we found 25 different
bird species. Lots of Canada Geese, Mallards, and feral Rock Pigeons.
