Lake Murray Field Trip Results

Hi Good Friends,

On Saturday July 8, thirty-five birders walked around Lake Murray in La Mesa. We birded two locations at the lake. Initially, we met up at the northwest location (Golfcrest Dr. entrance) and then drove over to the southeast location (Kowa Dr. entrance).  The weather was very nice, and we all enjoyed a great day of birding.

We found 38 different bird species at the northwest location and 19 different species at the southeast location.

Lots of Mallards, Canada Geese, and feral Rock Pigeons. The best bird of the day was the rare Neotropic Cormorant, which we found at both locations.
