Oak Hill Memorial Park Field Trip Results

Hi Good Friends,

On Saturday February 17, thirty birders walked around Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido. The weather was very overcast and foggy, but we still managed to find 43 different bird species. Cemeteries are always good birding locations.

There were lots of Mourning Doves, Chipping Sparrows, Acorn Woodpeckers, and Pine Siskins. The large flock of about 20 Pine Siskins was quite a surprise!

I think the best bird of the day was the Great Horned Owl. For years, finding an owl at this location has always been a regular sighting.
