Palomar Program: Remarkable Raptors

Palomar Audubon had the pleasure of having Sharyl Massey come to the Remmington Club to teach us about local raptors, and it was outstanding. Sharyl is a volunteer with Sky Hunters – Raptor Education and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating local communities about the diversity of raptors native to San Diego County and caring for sick, injured, and orphaned raptors.

We learned about raptor diversity, taxonomy, and their amazing adaptations! She also discussed what’s involved in raptor rehabilitation and their goal of releasing rehabilitated birds back into their habitats.
