PAS Bird Walk at Guajome Regional Park

It’s been said that Guajome Regional Park is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.  Today 25 bird enthusiasts enjoyed a visual feast encompassing 47 species, including our two target birds:  the illusive least bittern and least tern.  Also spotted were a pair of downy woodpeckers, a white-breasted nuthatch, many juvenile birds, and the usual expected subjects.  At one point, we encountered a fallen tree blocking our narrow path. The group took it in stride as we practiced our limbo maneuvers.
Thanks to the group for pointing out the sightings and to Gerry and Steve for diligently keeping count.  Also, a special thanks to our photographers for providing the photos that allow us to reflect on the day and the birds we enjoy seeing.
