Sign Up Now for PAS Trip to Morro Bay

PAS is travelling to Morro Bay January 18 to 21 to see a vast array of birds that are generally not all present on any single PAS outing. But to heck with birding, this quaint little seaside village can entertain one for the full period without even needing the raise a pair of binoculars. Just raise a glass of wine (or two) instead. However, we are fortunate to have our PAS member and bird guide extraordinaire Gjon Hazard to lead us. In the past, Gjon has spent many years in this area so knows where to find that unusual bird you may not have on your list. It is possible you have already experienced Gjon on a field trip or weekend outing where he gets you on the (otherwise missed) bird quickly, calling them out in his strong booming voice.

This year we are staying at the Ascot Suites, a place sure to please with good ambiance, view and breakfast. Please make your reservation early, since the number of available suites is limited. Their phone number for reservations is 805 772 4437. A recent rate for a king bed room was $147 per night. This is after a 15% discount offered to those spending 3 nights or more and where reservation is made directly with the hotel.

Below is a link describing in great detail what awaits those joining us. As the article says, this is a hot destination. So is the interest in this trip, so respond quickly by sending an email to dswalkley@aol.com to confirm your spot, then send your non-refundable check for $125, made out to Palomar Audubon Society, to Dianne Benham, 15946 Cumberland Drive, Poway 92064.
