Birders,
Here is the report from the first leg of Saturday’s walk, a corrected report. Highlights include the two Tricolored Herons seen interacting at one point and the numerous Reddish Egret. Good views of the Light-footed Clapper Rails, too. It was a pleasure having Brad Dawson, a local birder and professor, help us with IDs and explain the ecology of the area, for example pointing out the full tidal versus muted tidal areas. Trysten Loefke has submitted a report on eBird with numerous photos taken by his brother Aedyn. Hope you check it out.

Birders,
Here is the list from the second leg of Saturday’s bird walk. It was a hot and sunny day. That was a good thing as there were plenty of bugs for the flycatching birds. Plans for next year include parking at the library and picnicking in that area. This is also closer to the ponds and big eucalyptus which can be really productive.
