PAS Field Trip Report: Lindo Lake

Hello Friends, On November 23rd, 2024, 27 of us met at Lindo Lake for our scheduled semi-annual field trip. This park seems to be getting better after many seasons of rebuilding. I enjoy the secondary trails, piers, and bird blinds. The weather was cold but pleasant, many of us thought it would be like the coast, cold and low visibility but the advantage of being inland was ours. Some of the expected birds were not apparent and some were not encountered at all. Where were the White Fronted Geese? The Cackling Goose was not in attendance either.  We had some really good observers present and as the group split into two factions, different encounters were had. The front group found a Brewer’s Sparrow. The slow group (mine) saw the Tri-Colored Blackbirds and a female American Redstart. It would seem that with these and the Yellow Rumps and White Crowned Sparrows, our winter mix is present.

Thanks for the great photography and Steve for compiling our Ebird list.  https://ebird.org/checklist/S203411087

Take care, Gerry and Linda Baade
