PAS Field Trip Report: La Jolla Cove

On Saturday, May 2, twenty birders met up at the La Jolla Cove, and we found 23 different bird species. The weather was overcast, cold, and windy. Not the best day for finding birds. We found lots of Brant’s Cormorants,  elegant Terns, and Brown Pelicans. Several of the Brant’s Cormorants had nests with juvenile birds. I think the most surprising bird was the Red-crowned Amazon Parrot.
Many thanks go out to Caroline Xu for keeping our eBird checklist, and also to our wonderful photographers.
