A good day for bird watching, it was partly cloudy which took care of any glare off the water. We had 20 birders on the trip. We saw the following rarities for this location (according to eBird): Eurasian Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Little Blue Heron, Semipalmated Plover, Willet, and Western Sandpiper. I changed our Dowitcher sighting to Long –billed since Short-billed was flagged as a rarity and it always hard to tell them apart. Some star sightings were the Red-breasted Merganser, Townsend’s Warbler, an Osprey eating a large fish, and good views by most on the walk of the Eurasian Wigeon.
