Saturday. July 20th, a group of thirty birders gathered at Felicita County Park in Escondido. Felicita Park is a beautiful historic park with mature oak groves offering much-needed shade during the heat of the summer. Running through the park is Felicita Creek which adds areas of peaceful tranquility.
It was warm and relatively humid, but we found 37 species and about 167 individuals. The skies were mostly sunny with occasional light clouds filtering the light. We took a break at the main picnic area before heading east and back to our starting point.
This eBird hotspot was a new bird walk location for PAS. Birding here in the fall through spring could have high birdy potential.
Many thanks go out to all who participated, with special thanks to our photographers. Please see our eBird checklist by clicking the link below or pasting it into your browser.
Thank you.
