Approximately 20 birders visited Dairy Mart Ponds, the Tijuana River Valley Ranger Station, the Bird and Butterfly Garden, and the Tijuana River Valley Community Gardens on the morning of August 17, 2024.  The weather was cool in the beginning and warmed up as the morning progressed. We dipped on the Common ground dove and the Northern Cardinal but got several nice views of the Black-throated Magpie Jays (2) at the Bird, Butterfly, and Mosquito Garden, where the participants provided the resident mosquitoes with a lovely lunch.  LOTS of butterflies as well!  The total for all 4 sites was 57 species.  Thanks to Denise Riddle for compiling the e-bird list and to our photographers for all you do to enhance our experience!
