Dear PAS Birding Friends,

TRIP ANNOUNCEMENT:  We are putting together a trip to Southeast Arizona in August, which is the monsoon season, and sure to produce many “Arizona Specialties” for us!  The date will be August 10-13, with an option to add one extra day if there is enough interest.  This would be driving/flying to Tucson on the 10th, birding the 11th and 12th (plus option for the 13th for those that want to stay an extra day) and traveling home on either the 13th or 14th.

Our guide will be Melody Kehl, (Melody’s Birding), whom we have used in the past.  She has provided us with an extensive list of birds we are likely to see, and it is quite impressive!   We need a minimum of 6 participants to make this trip go, and we are capping it at 12, as Melody prefers working with smaller groups. (She actually prefers groups of 8-10, but has agreed to let us bring 12, as we did last time.)

The cost will be $50/day/person, and includes a picnic lunch.  The hotel in Tucson will be the Country Inn, which will be available to us at a group rate of  $65/night, and includes breakfast. You will be responsible for your own evening meal, your own transportation to Tucson, and for tipping the guide at the end, (which we recommend the standard $10/person/day).

If you are interested in participating in this trip, please email diannebenham@me.com.  Let us know how many in your party.  You may send the email as soon as you get this posting, and the first 12 emails I receive will be those who make up the trip.  We will also have a waiting list for those that wish to go but are not among the first twelve to respond.  I will contact you as soon as we fill the trip to let you know.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Dianne & Hal Benham
