La Jolla Field Trip Report

Hello Everyone and thank you for joining Linda and I at our PAS birding excursion at La Jolla.

We saw most of the expected birds, Black Turnstones Spotted Sandpipers, Cormorants, Terns and Western Gulls. Might have been a bit early in the season for tattlers and surfbirds, we can expect but we cant force anything.

Distant views were of many birds flying by, too far for us to identify with certainty.  Behind the bridge club paid off with warblers, sparrows and hummingbirds.

We saw a whale spouting in the distance at one point, later we saw mice in the planter at our feet. Largest mammal and the smallest were represented.

I have attached the ebird list compiled by Steve Ellis, thank you Steve. Thanks to our contributing photographers,Tsawai, Gail and Linda.

We are “somewhere” every week. See you soon
