On Saturday morning April 8, twenty-five birders met up at Mission Trails Regional Park and we walked the Dam to the Grasslands Trail. The weather was perfect.
We found 55 bird species. Lots of Tree Swallows, Bushtits, and House Wrens. It’s always neat to hear the call, and then see the elusive Yellow-breasted Chat!
This year, with all of the heavy rain, the San Diego River was moving fast, and the trail was tricky to walk, due to the many exposed rocks we had to navigate.
