Double-crested Cormorants & Brown Pelicans

We are excited to announce that the 2016 Waterbird Festival will take place on February 6, 2016 at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary.

One of the most important and productive areas within the greater San Francisco Bay, Richardson Bay harbors a large eelgrass bed, thousands of over-wintering waterbirds and the greatest concentration of spawning Pacific herring on the west coast. February is peak herring season, and herring attract birds of all kinds who feed both on the fish and the eggs they lay.

Register now for this family-friendly event to learn about waterbirds, herring and the importance of underwater habitats such as eelgrass.

There will be bird walks, lectures and a photo exhibit from the National Audubon Society, and most of the events are FREE!
