Robb Field – San Diego River Mudflats & Famosa Slough Trip Report For July 30th Walk

A beautiful day that makes you appreciate living in San Diego.  A large amount of the mudflats was exposed.  It was low tide and I’m sure our drought impacted the river flow.    At least 27 birders joined the walk.  Best birds of the day were Black-bellied Plovers still in breeding plumage, dancing Reddish Egrets, and a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron.  Between the two sites we saw 55 species.  Check out the eBird reports to see a list of birds seen, which also includes many nice photos of some of the birds.
