Hi Good Friends,
On Saturday morning August 5, thirty birders walked around the Stonewall
Mine area and Lake Cuyamaca. The weather was hot in the mountains, but
we managed to walk in the shade most of the time. I think everybody
enjoyed the field trip.
We found 49 different bird species. Lots of Turkey Vultures, Mallards,
and Greater Egrets. The most interesting bird was the very brief visit
of a Black-throated Gray Warbler. Checkout Gerry Baade’s eBird link to
see our species list and some really nice photos:

Many thanks to Gerry for keeping track of the birds we found. Also,
thanks go out to our wonderful photographers.
And finally, thanks again for the early morning surprise get-together,
and all of the cards and nice birthday wishes.
