Stonewall Mine/Lake Cuyamaca Field Trip Report

Hi Good Friends,On Saturday morning August 5, thirty birders walked around the StonewallMine area and Lake Cuyamaca.  The weather was hot in the mountains, butwe managed to walk in the shade most of the time. I think everybodyenjoyed the field trip.We found 49 different bird species. Lots of Turkey Vultures, Mallards, and Greater Egrets. The most interesting bird was the very brief visitof a Black-throated Gray Warbler. Checkout Gerry Baade’s eBird link tosee our species list and some really nice photos:                      https://ebird.org/checklist/S146518681Many thanks to Gerry for keeping track of the birds we found. Also, thanks go out to our wonderful photographers. And finally, thanks again for the early morning surprise get-together,and all of the cards and nice birthday wishes.JIM BECKMANTrip Leader
