Santee Lakes Field Trip Report

On Saturday, August 12, sixteen birders walked around Santee Lakes on a very nice and relatively cool (for Santee) summer day. We found 44 different bird species. This time of the year (late Summer), a lot of the migrating ducks were not present at this location. We did however,
find lots of Mallards, Wood Ducks, Red-winged Blackbirds, and Great-tailed Grackles.
