On March 14th, the temperatures in San Diego mercifully dropped to a fabulous 65 degrees for our arrival at Lindo Lake and stayed pleasant for our walk around the lake. We had a slight breeze and lots of great conversation. Oh, and we saw some birds too. There were still many Wigeons in the lake along with the stunning wood ducks who were staking out the nest boxes in the park. We watched egrets and herons build nests, warblers flit among the pepper trees, and enjoyed the flowers blooming along the trail. Although everyone looked hard for the previously spotted rare warblers, we were shut out but not disappointed. We did see a Neotropic Cormorant and a total of 57 species. As always, gratitude to Steve Ellis and our amazing photographers who quickly post their pictures to eBird (https://ebird.org/checklist/S309409396) for all of us to enjoy and savor the moments from our walk.
Happy Trails,
Beth Pearson
