On Saturday, March 28th, at 8 AM, twenty of us met at the Sweetwater River Gorge trail to see what we could find. The day looked hopeful, nice weather and a cohesive group of birders and photographers.
It is also the time of year when we start to see and hear migrants from the south that are either passing through or planning to stay and reproduce.
At the parking area, we could hear Yellow Warblers and Bells’ Vireos. Other contenders were mentioned; we were not certain, but Sweetwater Gorge in the spring is a likely place to see a Yellow-breasted Chat.
We saw and heard many of the expected species. Please peruse the attached Ebird list. Thanks to the great sets of eyes, photographers, and our list compiler. See you next time?
