PAS Field Trip Report: Santee Lakes

On Saturday morning, February 21, twenty-nine birders walked around Santee Lakes. We found 64 different bird species.

The weather was very cool in the morning, but quickly warmed up, and that gave a great day for birding. We found lots of American Coots, Northern Shovelers, Ring-necked Ducks, & Ruddy Ducks. The best species we found was the Neotropic Cormorant.

Many thanks go out to Steve Ellis for keeping our bird list, and also to our wonderful photographers. Here is the list of the birds we found:   ebird.org/checklist/S302827610

Thanks,
Jim Beckman
