It was a beautiful day for birding at Whelan Lake. We had 34 enthusiastic birders & photographers who walked the area and found many great species. Wood Ducks were out early, but their pal, the Mandarin, passed on getting his photo op!

It got hot extremely fast, and lots retired to the shade early.
