2025 Annual Fundraising Drive

Dear Birding Friends of the Palomar Audubon,
As I come to the end of my first year as the president of the Palomar Audubon, I am happy to reflect on some key accomplishments and to invite you to our Annual Fundraising Event—to ensure that our mission continues to soar.

Over the past year, Palomar Audubon has taken flight in so many inspiring ways. Together, we’ve nurtured a vibrant and growing community of bird lovers, conservationists, educators, and lifelong learners. Our well-known Saturday bird walks continue to be the heart of our organization, welcoming birders of all levels to explore the incredible avian diversity of our region. Whether it’s a first glimpse of a Northern Flicker or the return of the White-crowned Sparrow, we share these moments in awe together.

We also expanded our impact beyond county lines with birding trips to new destinations, provided birding classes for beginners to advanced birders, and continued publishing our bi-monthly newsletter, keeping members informed and inspired. Our monthly educational programs brought experts and enthusiasts together to deepen our understanding of the natural world.

As in past years, we proudly awarded scholarships to young birders so they could attend birding camps—investing in the next generation of conservation leaders. We also connected with hundreds of community members at local events, brought the wonder of birds into schools, and were honored to share our passion at the San Diego Bird Festival.

On the conservation front, our research on the threatened Cactus Wren in restored prickly pear habitat at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is helping guide vital habitat restoration efforts. We also upheld our tradition of citizen science by leading another successful Christmas Bird Count—contributing meaningful data to a global effort.

All of this is made possible by your support.

Our annual fundraiser is not just a celebration—it’s a commitment. A commitment to protecting birds and the places they call home, to engaging our community, and to inspiring wonder in every generation.

We hope you’ll join us—and help us take our mission to new heights.
