Hi Birders,

On Saturday, September 13,  22 birders walked the Batiquitos Lagoon Trail. The weather was cool, which made for a nice walk.

Although we are too early for the arrival of most of the wintering duck,s we were treated to sightings of two Ridgeway Rails and a third calling in the reeds. Two White-tailed Kites were sitting outside of the golf center on a bare tree were a surprise, as well as a Great Horned Owl in a Eucalyptus Tree.
